5. Being Yourself Is Easier
In high school, we tend to camouflage our weirder traits so that we can fit in with the crowd. But college is the time to let that freak flag fly. There’s no more holding back and we learn that our parents’ constant advisement to be ourselves was actually true all along. Once you reveal your true selves to one another, becoming lifelong friends is a cinch.
6. You Grow Up Simultaneously
We all arrive on campus for freshman year with a head full of ideas, thinking that we know it all already. Going through the journey of growing up and learning about life and everything that it has to offer is a big part of why we become so close with our college friends. It’s impossible to know who we are upon beginning college, but after those four years, we have a much better idea.
